Floral Proposal
My girlfriend loved flowers. I took her to a flower nursery where I incorporated the assistance of the manager. Amongst the brightly, yellow colored flowers, I arranged to have potted, red colored, flowers placed in the nursery that spelled out the words..."Susan, will you marry me, Brad". I further hid my spelling by covering the red - worded - flowers with yellow peddles. Then, on cue, the fans were turned on and the loose peddles were blown away to reveal my message. She cried and said yes. Directly behind us was a rose arrangement where I had the ring resting on top of a rose bud. She stills talks about it today.

Ahh the message in a bottle is actually a great idea. I proposed to my wife while at brunch with friends a few years back - and there was something great about the simplicity of it. I really do think these ideas in the article are great though. Along with that, I want to add something that was tremendously helpful for me to learn about during my process of searching for A. a great way to propose and B. the perfect ring:
I found out about the 4Cs from the independent, nonprofit organization, GIA (Gemological Institute of America). It created the 4Cs and is recognized as the ultimate authority on gemology by the jewelry industry and US government. When you are shopping around for rings, one of the most important questions you can ask is whether the diamonds you're looking at are GIA graded.
The GIA Diamond Grading Reports are created in the interest of the consumer as unbiased, accurate, reputable evaluations of diamonds. You can check them out online and learn more about the 4Cs at www.gia4cs.gia.edu - I'm sure the site can be more informative and helpful than I'm being, but I thought this would at least be a good start through mentioning my experience with GIA.
I've told plenty of my close friends about making sure they get a GIA grading report WITH their ring purchase because it's such a big deal. And it's a really good feeling knowing that you have tangible evidence explaining everything about your diamond, such that you have an honest assessment of what it's worth. GIA wants to make sure that the consumer knows exactly what they're buying – and I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t be interested in this, too.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase (well, maybe my wife is, ha!), but in any case - it was the best investment I've ever made, and having the grading report from GIA makes me fully confident in my wife's stunning engagement ring!

I love CHICAGO but I am not from there. As a child I would spend endless hours talking with my Great Grandmother who is from Chicago. In my heart I knew that one day Allah would guide me to Chicago for my purpose driven life. The view on the 95th floor in the John Hancock takes my breath away every time I step foot into the Signature Room. It is this view of the city that makes me feel like I am in Chicago. Here is my romantic proposal idea. Rent the signature room if you can afford it. To fool your love make her think that you are taking her here for dinner. hehe Close the doors for privacy from the restaurant. Decorate the signature room with lots of candles, sheer fabric, white clear x-mas lights and roses! With classy & elegant you can't go wrong. Make this entrance with your future bride a grand one that will take her breath away and a moment she will never forget for the rest of her life. Have a special dinner with her in this room while you both have the view of a lifetime. Share that special dance with her in this room. Oh' and don't forget the fireworks in the distance! Now it's up to you to decide when and how you want to propose to her in the room. My Grandmother would be so proud of me to know that the love of my life was a good caring man from Chicago. Good luck gentleman and may you all have blessed marriages.

I gave my girl three flowers. The first I said "this represents our past" and talked about then handed her the second one and said "this represents the present" talked about it and finally on the last rose said "this represents our future" I tied the ring to the last rose and asked her to marry me. She said yes:)... Btw Hook'em Horns!!
