No one remembers the way she cried the first time she had seen the light of the world. All we had are stories of those people who are there to witness the arrival of another angel created by God. Every one seems happy and excited to take a glimpse at the innocence so lovely and enviable. The slightly opened eyes, the very cute lips, the soft cheeks, the naked body so warm and tender. A daddy so proud of her little baby; a mommy so fulfilled of finally ending the nine months of mystery in her.

The baby had soon begun to talk, walk and play. You can spend the whole day watching her and all you feel is innermost joy. She loves seeing colorful things that the moment she had a pen on her hand she will draw on the wall. She loves danceable music and even just clapping of hands from people around her will make her sway her hips. She mimics every word her ears hear to the point of sounding years beyond her age. She loves to experiment things; climbing stairs, sitting on chairs, opening the faucet. She demands eating alone as if she is capable of doing it all by herself. And after seeing her food got scattered all over the place, all over her face, you will hear her cry as if she is the victim of her own playfulness.

Her daddy is so tired after a full day’s work but every tired muscle of his body is refreshed the moment this baby girl runs to him and hugged him as if he had been out for years. Her mommy who had been as tired running all over her all day long can only smile in happiness as she sees the two most important persons in her life hugging and kissing together. In the bedroom, lying between her parents, this baby angel will talk and talk and talk about what she had done the whole day, so proud of everything she had accomplished, so excited in story-telling until fatigue caught up with her and makes her fall asleep. Seeing her so quiet and peaceful in her sleep sometimes makes you silently shed tears of joy.

Little did we know it, that shoe box-sized angel had then become a lady. A very lovely lady that every one wishes they could spend their lifetime with her. Full of cheer, full of fun; the inquisitive little baby had blossomed into a young woman but still exudes her child-like wonder so admirable and contagious. Unknowingly, she had touched the lives of people around her with her sincere kindness and generosity. She’s so feminine and beneath that lovely body lies the same baby angel that all are excited to carry in their arms.

Sooner, this lady will become a wife, a mother. You will cry the moment you see her wear a ring on her wedding day. Mixed emotions; tears of sadness for she will be in a new world of her own, worrying so much in thinking that this lady is still a baby to take care of; tears of happiness for knowing she will soon have her own baby to cradle in her arms, to play with, to cherish, to love.

How I wish you had been my daughter to whom I will sing a lullaby and make you fall asleep in my arms; how I wish you had been my sister to whom I will share everything around me; how I wish you had been my playmate to whom I will spend all the giggles of my childhood; how I wish you had been my schoolmate to whom I will share the most exciting memories of my life; and wish of all wishes is having you by my side to take care of, to inspire, to cherish, to spend my lifetime with because there is only one reason...
