I have a client who is wheelchair bound. We met alitlle over a month ago. He is in a bad relationship, and so am I. We have so much in common, and I want to ask him to spend time together outside of our business relationship, but I am nervous. I don't want to seem to forward, and I don't want to be rejected and harm our professional relationship. He and I have so much in common and can talk about anything. I am very intrigued by him, and would love to get to know him better even if it doesn't turn out to be sexual. I appriciate all suggestions

I am a wheelchair user and I can tell you. before I got married it would have been so nice to be approaced by someone NOT in a wheelchair who was interested. As a wheelchair user, it is very easy to get into the mindset that able bodied people are not attracted to you and if they are they would NEVER approach you. I say go for it! If he is mature and values you're friendship/professional relationship you can both work thorough any akwardness that may be present if he does not return the interest. But I bet he does! and I bet you'd just make his day if you approached him; Forget about the chair. It's not a factor and doesnt matter in terms of getting to know someone.
