Romantic Cocktails

A selection of romantic, love-inducing cocktail recipes and mixed drinks to add that extra romantic spark to your evening. It's little surprise that alcohol can have aphrodisiac effects. Many of us having sneaked a drink in before the big date to calm nerves... but just what does it do to our libidos? Alcohol is proven to reduce anxiety and release inhibitions, but only in limited amounts. With too much alcohol the sedative effects will dominate.

Ingredients:
1.0 cl Banana Liqueur
1.0 Orange Juice
2.0 cl Vodka
Directions: Pour the vodka and banana liqueur over ice cubes in a tall glass and fill up with orange juice. Garnish with a bit of grenadine and sugar.

Ingredients:
2.0 oz Lemon Lime Soda
0.5 oz Amaretto
1.0 cup Ice
2.0 oz Orange juice
1.0 oz Peach Schnapps
0.5 oz Sweet and Sour mix
1.0 oz Triple sec
Directions: Combine all ingredients together in a blender, with or without ice. Blend well, pour over ice (if not already used) in a hurricane glass and serve.

Ingredients:
1.0 oz. Bourbon
1.0 Sour mix
1.0 oz. Southern Comfort
1.0 dash dry Vermouth
Directions: Mix, shake with ice, and serve in a glass on the rocks.

Ingredients:
1.00 Coffee
0.75 oz Coffee Liqueur
1.50 oz Whipped Cream
0.75 oz Irish Cream
Directions: Pour Baileys and Kahlua into an Irish coffee glass. Fill the glass with hot coffee and top with whipped cream.

Ingredients:
0.25 oz Brandy
0.25 oz Sweet Cream
0.25 oz Creme de Cacao
0.25 oz Creme Yvette
Directions: Pour the ingredients slowly, in order given, into a pony or pousse-cafe glass, being careful not to let ingredients mix. This produces a multi-colored "striped" effect of the liquors. For best results pour each ingredient slowly over a teaspoon held bottom-side up.

Ingredients:
1.0 dash Angostura Bitters
1.5 oz Brandy
5.0 oz Pineapple Juice
Directions: Pour brandy, Angostura and pineapple juice into a highball glass that is 3/4 filled with ice. Stir well. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice, then serve.

Ingredients:
3.0 oz Champagne
2.0 oz Vodka
Directions: Chill vodka over ice if it's not in your freezer. Pour into a chilled champagne flute and fill with champagne.

Ingredients:
1.0 bottle Chilled Champagne
1.0 tsp Green Creme de Menthe
Directions: Put Creme de Menthe into a champagne flute, then fill with chilled champagne and serve.

Ingredients:
1.0 oz. Cognac or Brandy
1.0 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
1.0 oz. Light Rum
1.0 oz. Lemon or Lime Juice
Directions: Combine ingredients in a shaker with cracked ice. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Ingredients:
1.0 oz Amaretto
1.0 splash Grenadine
1.5 oz Orange juice
1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
1.5 oz White Rum
Directions: Pour the rum, amaretto, orange juice and pineapple juice into a cocktail shaker that is half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes, and float grenadine on top. Garnish with slices of orange, lemon or lime, and serve.

Ingredients:
1 oz. Amaretto 1 oz. Irish Cream 1 oz. Peach Schnapps 1 oz. Cream Directions: Serve in a highball glass with ice.

Ingredients:
12 oz. can Pink Lemonade Concentrate
1 c. Raspberry Sherbet
12 oz. can Lemon-Lime Soda
Directions: Mix the pink lemonade concentrate with water (as specified on the can) in a pitcher. In a separate pitcher, mix 1 c. of pink lemonade with 1 c. raspberry sherbet. Add the 12 oz. lemon-lime soda. Mix well and serve.

Ingredients:
0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur
0.5 oz Creme de Cacao
1.0 oz Vanilla Vodka
Directions: Mix and shake all ingredients with ice, then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a couple of whole coffee beans and serve.

Ingredients:
0.66 oz Champagne
2.00 dashes Cherry Liqueur
0.33 oz Gin
1.00 tsp Sugar
Directions: Pour the champagne, gin, sugar and cherry liqueur into a cocktail shaker that is half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

Ingredients:
0.5 oz Sherry
1.5 oz Vodka
Directions: Swirl the sherry in an old-fashioned glass to coat. Add vodka, garnish with orange peel, and serve.

Ingredients:
1 oz. Amaretto 1 oz. Southern Comfort Pineapple Juice Directions: Mix with pineapple juice and serve on the rocks.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Apple Brandy 3/4 oz. Benedictine Dash Curacao 1 oz. Lemon Juice Shake and Strain Directions: Mix together in a mixing glass with ice. Shake and strain, then serve with ice.

Ingredients:
3 oz. Coconut Rum 3 oz. Orange Juice Directions: Mix together in a mixing glass with ice. Shake and strain, then serve in a highball with ice.

Ingredients:
1.0 cube Crushed Ice
1.0 shot to taste Lime juice
1.0 oz. Barcardi Citrus Rum
2.0 oz Tonic
Directions: Using a martini shaker, pour all ingredients in over ice. Serve in a slightly chilled Martini glass.

Ingredients:
0.75 oz. Cherry Liqueur
0.75 oz. Gin
0.75 oz. dry Vermouth
Directions: Stir all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

Ingredients:
1 oz Cherry Liqueur
1 oz Parfait Amour Orange Liqueur
1 oz Cream
Directions: Pour the cherry liqueur into a cocktail glass. Layer the Parfait Amour on top by pouring over the back of a teaspoon. Top with cream, and serve.

Ingredients:
0.75 oz Coconut Cream
0.50 oz Whipped Cream
1.00 oz Orange juice
2.00 oz Dark Rum
3.00 Strawberries
0.50 oz Strawberry Schnapps
0.50 oz Sugar Syrup
Directions: Blend ingredients in a pina colada glass until smooth. Add half a glassful of crushed ice and blend again briefly. Garnish with a strawberry, add straws, then serve.

Ingredients:
2.0 oz Cranberry juice
1.0 oz Peach Schnapps
4.0 oz Pineapple Juice
1.0 oz Coconut Rum
1.0 splash Rum
Directions: Pour the coconut rum and peach schnapps into a highball glass that is 2/3 filled with ice cubes. Add the pineapple juice, then fill with cranberry juice. Splash rum on top and serve.

Ingredients:
3/4 oz. Coffee Liqueur 3/4 oz. Amaretto 3/4 oz. Irish Cream 3/4 oz. Cream Directions: Mix together in a mixing glass with ice. Shake and strain, then serve in a chilled cocktail glass.

Ingredients:
1 oz. Vodka 1/2 oz. Peach Schnapps 1/2 Filedl with Orange Juice 1/2 Filled with Cranberry Juice Top with Amaretto Directions: Serve in a collins with ice.

Ingredients:
2 oz. Melon Liqueur Cranberry Juice Directions: Serve in a collins with ice.

Ingredients:
0.75 oz. Amaretto
1.25 oz. Southern Comfort
Directions: Serve on the rocks or straight up.

Ingredients:
1 oz. Gin 1/4 oz. Apricot Brandy 1/4 oz. Grenadine Dash Lemon Juice Directions: Mix together in a mixing glass with ice. Shake and strain, then serve in a chilled cocktail glass.
