3 Ways to Give Thanks to the One You Love

When you think of Thanksgiving, you think of turkey, stuffing, and cranberries. But, there is more to Thanksgiving than the dinner that leaves you stuffed and needing a nap. As you sit down with your family and friends this year, give thanks to those things in your life for which you are most thankful. Here are a few ways that you can show your love and thanks this year:

As you sit down to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner, first take a moment to share your thanks. Many families traditionally go around the dinner table, which each person taking a moment to give thanks to their loved ones and share a bit about those things in their life that they are truly thankful for. With every day life getting in the way, you may not always take the time to tell your partner how thankful you are to have them in your life. This Thanksgiving, take a few moments to share your love and thanks. If your family isn't the 'sharing thanks' as you go around the table, take a moment at the start of dinner to toast your love. Raise your of wine and share with your partner a few words of love and thanks from the heart.

It's the little things that you say and do that really show your partner how special they are to you. Make an effort today to show love and thanks throughout the day. Hold her hand. Thank him for his love. Tell her how much you appreciate her. Give him a kiss. Say 'I love you'. The key is to show your love and thanks with simple words and simple courtesies throughout the day.

While Thanksgiving is not a traditional gift-giving holiday, giving your sweetie a little token of your love and thanks goes a long way. Send her a bouquet of autumn roses along with a list of the reasons why you are thankful to have her in your life. Give him a card of thanks so that he knows how much you appreciate him. Give her some gourmet Turkey truffles (they're chocolate, not turkey ;) ). Take a break from the cooking and dance in the kitchen to Bon Jovi's 'Thank You for Loving Me'. Turn up the romantic dial and show him how thankful you are later on the night after the dishes are done and the guests are long gone. Whatever you do, make it special and full of love and thanks.

While showing your love and thanks shouldn't be reserved for special occasions only, make a effort to show your thanks even more on Thanksgiving.
