When you think of romantic holidays, Halloween normally doesn't come to mind. We're turning that around by adding a spark of romance for the spooky day. Whether you're going to a Halloween party or hosting your own, it's all about the costume! When you're part of a couple though, there is whole new set of rules when it comes to your costumes. We've got a few tips to have you spookily stylin' as a couple!
Matching Costumes
You can find a lot of matching costumes for couples that allow you to spook the night away as a "pair". Most of these are good for a laugh, not just because of the costume creativity, but because of the sexual inuendo's with the props (ie the nut and bolt set). Some of these creative sets include:
Ketchup and mustard.
Salt and pepper shakers.
Plug and socket set.
Ball and chain.
Nut and bolt set.
Lock and key.
Traffic lights (red light, green light).
Bowling ball and pin.
Bacon and eggs.
We've selected a few that we thought were pretty creative below.
Coordinate
Even if your costumes aren't a matching set, you can still coordinate. For instance, we came across an "Uncle Sam" costume that would coordinate well with a "Statue of Liberty" costume. Other coordinating ideas include:
Hugh Heffner and a playboy bunny.
King and Queen.
Doctor and nurse.
Football player and cheerleader.
Pirate and wench.
Bride and groom.
Famous Couples
If you want something a little more traditional, dress up as a famous couple from some point in history. You could go with a historical couple or a couple from tv or the movies. Check out this list of famous romantic couples for ideas.
Gilligan and Mary Ann.
Popeye and Olive Oil.
Fred and Wilma Flintstone.
Fred Astaire and Ginger.
Sonny and Cher.
Marc Antony and Cleopatra.
Robin Hood and Maid Marion.
Elvis and Priscilla Presley.
Make Your Own
Make your own costumes and make a date of it at the same time. First, shop for materials together. You'll have a blast together trying on masks and making spooky sounds. Once you have your materials, spend an evening together putting the costumes together... masks, makeup, and all. A little later you can move the costume making party into the bedroom for a little scary lovin. Nothing says romance like a vampire sucking your neck!
Sexy all the way
If you really want to turn Halloween into a sexy holiday, wear a sexy costume. You'll turn heads all night, including your partners! A night of teasing turns into bedroom trick-or-treating. If you're thinking of going super sexy, check out our top 10 picks for sexy halloween costumes.
