Day 11: A Romantic Dinner
Avoid the crowded restaurants and long wait lines this Valentine’s Day and instead enjoy a romantic dinner at home. With just a little planning, you can create an incredibly romantic evening with a delicious meal. And yes, even you procrastinating men can do this one!
First step, setting the mood. Pay attention to detail when setting up for your meal as ambiance plays a larger role in a romantic dinner than the meal itself! Here are a few ideas for adding romance to your dining room:
- Use a silk table cloth
- Scatter rose petals around the table
- Light candles (lightly scented work best)
- Use china or other nice set of dishes
- Put fresh flowers on the table
- Have music softly playing in the background. It’s best to stick with romantic instrumentals rather music with vocals as they’ll distract you.
After you’ve set the mood, it’s time to plan the meal. Start with a great bottle of wine and then move on to your feast. Try a chicken parmigiana over linguine marinara or creamy pesto shrimp linguine for dinner. You can get both of these recipes from our recipes for two section. If you want a more ‘stimulating’ dinner, try cooking with various aphrodisiacs. You’ll get the passion going before you finish the last bite.
After dinner comes my favorite: dessert. For dessert a romantic dessert, we recommend anything chocolate. Our favorites include a rich chocolate mousse, home-made chocolate covered berries, or chocolate on you (literally). Add a little extra romance to your dessert by feeding one another by candlelight.
