Legos, Rings, Proposals … oh My!
January 10th, 2012
I’m a sucker for marriage proposals. That’s probably why we’ve got such a huge section of proposal ideas here on RomanceStuck. I love hearing stories of how people proposed down to the tiniest details. I especially love the creative ones and often find myself thinking, as I go about my day, “Oh, now that would make a great proposal!”.
This one, though, I’d never thought of…
A Proposal in Stop Motion… in HD! from FIREPIT PICTURES on Vimeo.
When filmmaker Walt Thompson decided to propose to his girlfriend of four years, Nealey Dozier, he got seriously creative. The end result is a 3 minute stop motion lego video that chronicles how they met and fell in love to his present day. It concludes with wedding scene in which Nealy’s lego character walks down the aisle towards Walt’s lego, who is holding a giant diamond ring. The words “Will You Marry Me’ flash across the screen.
Nealy says she never suspected a thing. “He directed me to the DVD player and told me to press play,” she said. “He then came to stand behind me, and within seconds I could feel the loud thumping of his heart and his quivering hands as they grabbed for mine. It was only then that I realized this was no anniversary poem.”
As the video ended, Thompson handed her a box that contained their lego characters, with the lego groom holding the ring.
And in case you were wondering, she said yes.
What do you think of his lego efforts?
She said yes.
